Today we brought Baby to the pool for the first time. He cried first, then was ok and smiling, then he cried again. Never bring a sleepy baby to the pool! Still a success :)

Great for Newborns!

By Jamie from California on 6/18/2011

4out of 5

Pros: Soft, Highly Absorbent, Snug Fit, Good Value, Adjustable Fit

Best Uses: Newborn, Preemies

Describe Yourself: First Time Parent

We LOVED these diapers! I'm not sure if other diapers have the umbilical cord cut-out, but they should! These diapers were great for 2-3 weeks, but as our sweet baby son got bigger, we started to experience the leaks that previous rewievers had talked about. Perhaps lower the weight reccomendation? (a friend helped us figure out why it was leaking). Other than that, we love them and continue to use huggies Pure and Naturals...just in a bigger size ;) No more leaks!

NEW CROP ROOM!!!!!!!!!!

Or as we call it- The 'Craft Cave' or 'Bat Cave' :) I've always told Cole that when we bought a house that I would want my own scrap room. So, Last Friday night, I made one :) I took an old desk and shoved it into our closet, replacing two rolling storage chests with the desk. Then I got Cole to drive me to Target (had a glass of wine) to pick up some smaller plastic drawers and voila! Scrap Room!

How to Cook Prime Rib

So, it is WIDELY known that I don't touch meat. I'm not being a princess (well, maybe I am...), it's a textural problem! I swear!! Anyways. Mom and dad got a great deal on prime rib (about $2-$3 a pound) and we were on the receiving end of a 4 pound prime rib!(THANKS!!!!!) So I ventured out to cook it. I know this involved actually TOUCHING the meat, but hey, I've gotta feed my family somehow. So below is my step-by-step process of cooking (and overcoming the grossness of touching) prime rib.

STEP ONE:
Gather your ingredients.
We have here: 1 roasting pan. 1 Meat thermometer. 5 Yukon Gold potatoes. Half of a bag of Pearl Onions. 1 carrot. 4 Cloves of garlic. Coarse salt. Rosemary. Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

STEP TWO: Preheat Oven to 450 degrees.

STEP THREE: Take a mortar and pestle to the rosemary. Crush, but do not obliterate the rosemary.

STEP FOUR: Cut Vegetables. Or have someone else help you. Or do it for you (I swear all I asked him to help with was the onions!!)

STEP FIVE: Toss the veggies with extra virgin olive oil and rosemary.

STEP SIX: Remove meat from bag.

STEP SEVEN: Try not to vomit all over veggies that took a while to prep.(wait, that step is just for me.)

STEP EIGHT: Pat Salt and Rosemary all over meat. DON'T FORGET THE OLIVE OIL!

STEP NINE: Cooking time depends on poundage. Google It. I did :)
Check Meat half-way through cooking process. This is a great time to add the extra virgin olive oil if you forgot.

STEP TEN: Add veggies.

STEP ELEVEN: Put back in oven :)

STEP TWELVE: Remove from oven. Check temperature. REMEMBER: The meat will continue to cook slightly as it sits.

STEP THIRTEEN: Enjoy :)

Adventures in the Lost Blog....

Wow. Its been WAAAAAAAY over a year since I've last blogged. Many wonder and many sad things have happened. Its been a busy year. As my New Years Resolution, I resolve to blog every week. Lets begin early!!!

Our Tree. I love it. His name is Mr. Tree. We got him from a lot near the place we usually get our tree. Yes, those are White strands of christmas lights. Did I put in the ones with green wiring so you can't see anything but the lights? NO! I put in the white wired lights that scream 'MY OWNER DIDN'T PAY ATTENTION TO ANYTHING WHILE DECORATING ME!' Oh well. We love Mr. Tree :) Happy Holidays!

Ah, the wonders of cleaning supplies and products...

Considering my house will be open this weekend to wonderful friends and family, I decided to clean :) Now, after a recent discovery that I, in fact, was a princess and not fit for manual labor, this would be yet another large step in my life. Now don't get me wrong, I've cleaned before, but I needed to clean with the speed of Infinity racers (Company is due in 4 hours). Here are a few of my encounters.
Ah... the dollar store broom.
Cost of two brooms.......$2.18
Cost of one dustpan......$1.09
Realizing you have the inner strength to snap a broom in half (i dont care if it was a cheap dollar store broom- i broke it!).....Priceless

Next on the list: THE OFFENDING MOP!
A while ago (I dont like to mop) I decided to use a brand new Mr. Clean mop and some interesting smelling Mr.Clean Orange cleanser. After mopping, I was tired. Princess. Manual Labor, you get the picture. One afternoon (I'll let it dry on the balcony), turns into a day (Maybe it still wet, i dont know), turns into a few days.
Mop......$16
Cleanser.$4
Having your spineless neighbor leave you a note on your door to put your mop away.....Priceless

For the final picture of the day: MYSTERY SPOT!
Our carpeting, once a nice shade of beige, now has become as spotted as swiss cheese. How does this happen? No one knows! The Mr. claims it wasn't him. I also claim the same. So until we find those pesky little gnomes that come in in the middle of the night to muck up our floor, we use Forgive you Friends (aptly named, don't ya think?) We love it. You sprinkle it on (or drizzle it, you choose the verb) scrub the hell out of it with a coarse haired brush and rub the excess off. Not bad for a find at the San Jose Flea market! Seriously, this guy had been there selling it for years, and we decided to try it. Holy Crap, it works :)
Forgive your Friends....$10
Forgive your Friends Upgrade to larger size and brush thing...$20
Watching Dear, Dear Husband play Cinderella with our carpet......Pricesless
